Caravans and Camping

Porthclais was chosen by the Independent Newspaper last year as one of fifty best camping sites in the British Isles. One of only two in Pembrokeshire

Our Campsite

The campsite is bordered to the south by the cliff path and St Brides Bay and to the west by Porthclais Harbour where small boats can be launched.

We have sandy beaches nearby, Whitesands is blue flag standard and is manned by lifeguards so that you can bathe with confidence. There is direct access for walkers to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path so exploring the coastline is easy.

Sandy Beaches

The large sandy beach of Whitesands is nearby. This has golden sands at all stages of the tide, with easy access for pushchairs from the adjacent car park. Enjoy a quiet picnic and swim at the sheltered sandy beaches of Porthlysgi, Porthselau, Porth-melgan or Caerbwdi, accessible only on foot. Read more

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path meanders around the peninsular, over high cliff tops, rugged promontories and into a succession of sandy coves and beaches. You can take an easy circular walk from the campsite from 2 to 14 miles or longer completely away from the main roads! Read more

The offshore islands of Skomer, Grassholm and Ramsey are famous for their resident and migrant birds and grey seal colonies. The surrounding countryside is a haven for badgers, seen on a late spring evening. Read more

Our campsite covers a large area: 24 acres are available for tents and one field of 5 acres is licensed for touring caravans and camper vans. The campsite is flat and well-drained which is ideal for camping. Another field of 4 acres is available for August Bank Holiday and High Season so there’s plenty of room for everyone.

We have 5 fields for camping. 4 of our fields are dog friendly. We appreciate that some families prefer to avoid dogs so dogs are not allowed in one field overlooking the sea; this large field is dog free.

Unbeatable location we come here with my family year after year.
